This tutorial explains how to install plugins on a Minecraft server.

To get started, you must already have a running Minecraft server with Spigot / Bukkit.

Installing Plugins on a Minecraft Server

You can find plugins on SpigotMC or Bukkit.

Download a plugin of your choice

Place the .jar (plugin file) in "plugins" directory.

Run the server and wait for it to fully load.

Type stop in your Minecraft server console to bring the server to a clean stop.

Run the server.

All done! Your plugin should be installed and ready to be used.

How to reload plugins on a Minecraft Server ?

When you make changes to the configuration of plugins, or when they bug, you need to know how to reload a plugin.
Your Minecraft server already has this functionality with the /reload command, but this command is dangerous because it reloads all the plugins from the server.

We will show you, in this tutorial, how to reload a plugin without bugging the entire server.

Download PlugMan plugin

Place the .jar in plugins directory and start the server.

With PlugMan, you will be able to reload a plugin using the command: /plugman reload PLUGINNAME

If you wish, you can also unload a plugin with: /plugman unload PLUGINNAME

There are other commands like the /plugman start PLUGINNAME or /plugman disable PLUGINNAME to enable / disable a plugin.
